The National Academies has released the 10th Revised Edition of Nutrient Requirements of Poultry – a major update to the 1994 edition.

In my book, I mentioned that the most recent edition (the ninth) of Nutrient Requirements of Poultry, published by the US National Research Council (NRC), dated from 1994. Considerable scientific progress in poultry nutrition has been made since then, and an updated edition has long been needed (Applegate & Angel, 2014). The NRC convened a committee to prepare a tenth revised edition, which was expected to be published imminently (as of 2025). As I completed my manuscript in early 2026, this is the information presented in the book.

The new (tenth) edition has now been published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) in 2026. It replaces the long-standing Ninth Revised Edition (1994), which had served as the standard reference for more than 30 years.

It is my pleasure to inform you that the new edition is finally available.
